Datasets
Oxford Ledge compiles public financial data into legible, structured datasets — each one derived from a government or SEC primary source and linked back to it. Everything here is free to read on the site. For bulk or programmatic use, the same data is callable through the API and MCP server.
The datasets
- BDC Schedules of Investments — parsed private-credit portfolios for public Business Development Companies: borrower-level holdings, lien position, fair value, spread, PIK share, non-accruals, dividend coverage. Source: SEC EDGAR.
- 13F institutional holdings — which funds hold a stock, position sizes, new buyers, exits, and quarter-over-quarter ownership changes across thousands of tracked filers. Source: SEC EDGAR.
- FDIC bank call-report financials — every U.S. bank ranked by assets: deposits, net interest margin, ROA, efficiency ratio, Tier-1 capital. Source: FDIC BankFind (public domain).
- Federal contract obligations — public companies ranked by U.S. federal contract obligations, a forward-revenue signal. Source: USAspending.gov (public domain).
- USPTO patent applications — published patent applications by public company, an R&D-direction signal. Source: USPTO Open Data Portal.
- Finance glossary — plain-English definitions of the finance terms used across the site. Oxford Ledge authored.
- Curriculum — structured courses and modules from beginner to advanced, each with its own page and schema. Oxford Ledge authored.
Programmatic & licensing access
The datasets above are callable, not just readable:
- MCP server — a Model Context Protocol server exposing the datasets as tools for AI agents. Tool catalog at
/api/mcp/tools.json. - REST API — the OpenAPI specification lives at
/static/openapi.yaml; authenticate with anX-API-Keyheader. A free key (no card) is available from your account.
The sellable moat is SEC- and government-derived data plus Oxford Ledge's own derived analytics and authored content — never resold vendor feeds. For bulk data or a licensing conversation, email contact@oxfordledge.com. Data is provided under the site terms; underlying government sources are public domain and are attributed on every dataset.
For machines
A curated crawler index lives at /llms.txt, with the full-text corpus (glossary, curriculum, methodology) at /llms-full.txt. This page carries schema.org/DataCatalog structured data enumerating every dataset above.
