Why it matters
Trend analysis reveals whether the business is strengthening or deteriorating. The most dangerous investments are ones where trailing metrics look great but the trend is turning negative.
How to read it
Look for: revenue growth accelerating or decelerating, margin expansion or compression, FCF conversion improving or worsening. Management guidance from earnings calls provides the forward view — but apply skepticism, as management tends to be optimistic.
