Skier Visits

One person using a mountain for any part of one day -- the volume unit of the ski business, and deliberately a VISIT rather than a person: a season-pass holder who skis thirty days is thirty skier visits. It is the denominator for nearly every other mountain metric (revenue per visit, ancillary spend per visit), so a change in visits moves those ratios even when nothing about pricing changed. Weather is the dominant short-term driver, which is why a single soft quarter says more about snowfall than about the business -- read it across seasons, not quarters.
