REIT Occupancy
The percentage of a REIT's leasable space that is currently leased -- the demand side of the real-estate equation. The denominator differs by property type, and we badge it: apartments and hotels count by unit or room, offices and warehouses by square foot, data centers by megawatt of power. High and stable occupancy signals pricing power (the landlord can push rents); a falling occupancy is an early warning that supply is outrunning demand. Read it alongside same-store NOI growth, which shows whether the REIT is growing income from the space it already owns.
