Refinery Throughput
The volume of crude oil and other feedstock a refinery actually processed, in barrels per day. It is the refiner's production rate, and it is distinct from pipeline throughput (a midstream measure of what moved through a pipe). Read it as a percentage of nameplate capacity -- the utilization rate -- because refining is a high-fixed-cost business where running below capacity is expensive. A planned turnaround (scheduled maintenance) drops throughput for reasons that say nothing about demand; an unplanned outage says something about the asset.
