Pharmacy Script Volume
The number of prescriptions filled or processed in a period -- the volume unit of pharmacy retail and pharmacy benefit management. It is usually reported ADJUSTED, counting a 90-day prescription as three, which is the right basis for comparing periods but means the figure is not a count of transactions. Watch the generic dispensing rate alongside it: generics carry far lower revenue per script and far higher margin, so script growth and revenue growth routinely move in opposite directions without anything being wrong.
