Digital Sales Share
The share of revenue transacted through the company's own e-commerce or digital platforms rather than through traditional sales channels and distributors. In industrial and chemical businesses it is tracked as a margin and stickiness signal: a digital order costs less to take, and a customer embedded in an ordering platform switches suppliers less readily. It is company-defined and the definitions are generous -- an order emailed and keyed in by a salesperson is sometimes counted -- so treat the trend as the signal and the level as roughly comparable at best.
