Volume Price Mix
The decomposition of a chemical company's organic revenue growth into how much came from selling more physical product (volume) versus from higher prices and a richer product mix (price/mix), each shown as a percentage contribution. Because specialty chemicals pass raw-material cost inflation through to customers as price, the split is diagnostic: growth led by volume signals genuine demand for the products, while growth that is all price/mix -- especially when volume is negative -- often means the company is just passing through input-cost inflation and real demand is soft. A durable specialty franchise shows positive volume alongside pricing power; a commoditized one lives and dies on price.
