PRASM

Passenger Revenue per Available Seat Mile -- like RASM but counting only ticket (passenger) revenue, leaving out cargo and other non-ticket income, in cents. It isolates the core flying business. PRASM equals yield times load factor, so it rises when planes get fuller, when fares go up, or both, and comparing it with those two tells you which one drove a change. Like every per-seat-mile figure it runs higher for carriers with shorter average flights, so compare it between airlines with similar route networks, or within one airline over time.
