Currency Effect on Revenue

The portion of a company's reported revenue change that came purely from exchange rates rather than from selling more or charging more. Companies report it so readers can compute a constant-currency growth rate. It is genuinely useful and routinely over-trusted: currency effects are real cash for a company that reports in dollars and earns in euros, so 'excluding currency' describes the operating business, not the shareholder's outcome. Use it to judge management; use the reported number to judge the investment.
