Connecting an AI provider unlocks unlimited questions about any company. New to this?
What's an API key?
An API key is a long string (similar to a password) that authorises a program to use your AI account. You generate it on your provider's website — Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini — then paste it here. When you sign in, we encrypt it on our servers so you only paste it once.
Isn't this just my ChatGPT (or Claude) login?
No, and this trips up a lot of people. ChatGPT Plus and the OpenAI API are billed separately — the API key comes from platform.openai.com, not your ChatGPT login. Same idea for Claude (the Anthropic console) and Gemini (Google AI Studio). The "Get key" links in Step 2 take you to the right page for each provider.
How much does AI cost?
API usage is metered per-token (a token is roughly 0.75 of a word). A typical question costs a few cents on Claude or ChatGPT. Each provider's dashboard lets you set a hard spending cap so you never exceed your budget. If you'd rather not deal with billing, our free credits cover the same questions.
